I will never complain that knitting is hard to photograph again...

Ok, probably I will still complain. But stationary knits are a lot better-behaved than mobiles. As the name suggests, they're not very good at keeping still!

The beautiful caged bead keep them "centred" without the need for therapy.

You're going to have to take my word about them being "glow in the dark".

I did *try* to take photos of them in the dark - but either the flash did its thing (which destroyed the dark) or it didn't - in which case I couldn't see which way to point the camera.

By now, my intelligent readers (that's ALL of you) will have realised this mobile is not knitted. It's a Glowbile (please imagine I've inserted the little trademark symbol here) by Protoyper.folksy.com

This particular glowbile is for my son's birthday. Jamie assures me his birthsign is Aries, so the stone used is Jasper which makes it a bit more personal. It's great quality and an absolute bargain (you know how tight a grip I keep on those purse strings!) so why not pop along to Jamie's shop and nab one for yourself? He needs to earn his keep as I'm hoping he'll be joining us at the Hoodeners Horse for our next local twitter lunch to buy me a pint!

Oh - and if anyone has a secret direct line to twitterHQ, can you ask them to mend his follow button? http://twitter.com/glowbile

Meerkat World Tour catch-up

I'm finding it increasingly hard to remember where the meerkats have got, so here's a chance to catch up! I'm deliberately not showing you the fabulous photos here, please visit the blogs of the various hosts.

Meerkat World Tour meerkats started out in November 2009. Since then we've been in the local paper and video'd for the local paper website!

Treasure visited Cute Designs and then to Israel to meet Arosha and Inbaliya and celebrated Hanukkah with SpringDesigns . Treasure is due to arrive in Estonia to meet 5erg tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Etta went straight to North Carolina with MidnightCoiler and then spent Thanksgiving with CrazyDaisesDesigns. After Thanksgiving she went to New York to attend the "one of a kind show" with GocksFrocks (Watch GocksFrocks blog, there's another update to come) and then to ZaftigDelights, for Christmas.

Vote Vote Vote :-)

I know I know - I've neglected my blog shamefully, and have only come back to pimp for votes for a competition (again!)

The brief was to make something that reflected a News Story.

My first entry is my clanger,

an homage to Oliver Postgate who died recently.

My second entry is in response to the rather premature stories about the demise of
Morris Dancing.

So...what do I want you to do? Please vote for niftyknits by placing a comment on the Folksy blog BEFORE midnight Sunday (UK time)
thank you xxx
