Walking to the paper shop in the snow

Fetching a Sunday paper takes us just over an hour across the fields.

it hadn't been snowing long

through the next field then into the woods. I love how the branches are "highlighted" by snow.

The next field usually holds a horse or two

but they were snugly tucked up in the stable.

and up the hill to the clifftops where the sun is trying to break through

The sea could hardly be seen, the landscape (seascape?) has faded into grey.

That sea looks COLD!

Not our house - but doesn't the thatch look pretty with the snow highlights?

It's snowed continuously since we've been back with the paper - brrrr!

Snow!

We don't get a lot of snow in the south east of the UK, so when the first fall arrived overnight on Saturday we knew we had to get out there and enjoy it.


I love the way the snow softens the edges in some ways... but then


these trees look like they've been highlighted!


The fence reminds me of fake snow sprayed in windows at Christmas.
Nothing fake here though.


I was pleased with the "framing" around the sheep in this next shot


Wish I could say this was my garden pond, but it's the local trout farm.


I love the way the snow is coating each and every surface it could find here!

Our local area is beautiful all year round, but I especially enjoy it under snow.




The sun is already working its magic and much of the snow has gone now. I'm glad I enjoyed it!

More snow, the sheep don't like it :-(

3 inches (8cm) in our garden this morning, but much deeper in the fields when we walked to the supermarket for some supplies (chocolate and other essentials)



The poor sheep looked so uncomfortable, but there was nothing we could do.
I guess they're used to it.

This last photo is a shot I've retaken every winter since we moved here - this house is quite near us (nothing like our own home!!) and it just looks perfect with snow.



Home now - to light the fire! We don't usually have anything like this much snow in November - brrrrr!

I love snow!

It's snowed!

It snowed most of yesterday, but today was bright and sunny and the snow was perfect underfoot, dry and powdery and looking as though it had been sprinkled with glitter.







I spent yesterday huddled in front of the fire and crocheting myself an earflap hat. It's not a brilliant pic, but can you see the curly "dreads" on the point?



We walked across the fields to town and then back again in time for lunch. I love this area, real English countryside.
