Ross Meerkat on holiday

in Disneyland Paris!

All of my meerkats go to great new homes, naturally - but little Ross goes on so many holidays! Sarah from VeeDubz just sent me some new photos:

It's amazing, he *still* hasn't eaten that cake!

Postcard from the Isle of Wight - the model village!

We used to take our children to the model village in Godshill umpteen years ago, but it's still just as wonderful as ever.

It actually *is* a model of the village...and contains a model of the model of the model.

The topiary is quite something in itself.

1:10 turns out to be perfect meerkat size!

Cricket on the village green...

Look at the dog being a nuisance! There was (of course) a soundtrack for the bandstand - and hymns issuing forth from the church!

There's a wedding at the model church - notice the cottages in the foreground?

These are the real-life cotages in front of the real-life church - if you look at the top of each roof, you can see they've even copied the detailing on the thatch!

Now *this* is what I call a beach!

Camber Sands, Friday. Only downside was I walked on a jelly fish - no sting or anything, but definitely not a nice feeling!

Up the Lone Piners!

I've been working on my old website the last few days - I'm beginning to think I never want to see html ever again!

It's based on the children's books by Malcolm Saville - sort of countrified Famous Five - but maybe worth a look for the photos of the British countryside even if you don't know the books. I've had holidays in the three of the settings now, and try to find the locations of the stories.

As I said to my son just now, when I was a teen it was a toss-up as to whether I would marry David Morton (Lone Pine club leader) or Aragorn from LotR.

Enjoy!
