Favourite colour?
Right now I am loving the rich purples and teals as well as the brighter aquas and you can always soothe everything with a soft antique white.

Favourite smell?
The smell of the ocean. Whether it is a hot humid day with the air standing still or cool winter days that make you want to bundle, nothing beats ocean air.
Nifty: me too!
Favourite place?
Well it would be redundant to say "See above" but... The ocean. More specifically the ocean in winter, deserted beaches, only your foot prints in the sand and then going home to cuddle on the couch with a blanket and a book and the ocean out the window.

Thunderstorms. They are of course the most magnificent at the beach, but I can enjoy a good thunderstorm anywhere.
Favourite way to spend your time?
I call them lazy days. You spend all day in your pajamas, eat whatever you want whenever you feel like and if you want to do something productive, you do it.
Favourite item in your shop of all time? My ducks.
I did this piece in college and still have it hanging in my computer room. Just looking at it makes me feel happy.
Favourite shop that isn’t yours?
There are really too many amazing shops to choose from. However when I am hungry I longingly look at Nicole's Homemade Treats. Nifty: don't we all?
What has been the most useful lesson you’ve learnt so far that you’d like to pass on to our readers?
If creating stuff makes you happy then do it. It doesn't matter if you get 1 sale or 100, selling really should come second to creating. There is a perfect balance, but if you get too business minded then you lose sight of why you first started selling. Do what makes you the happiest.

Asphodeline...the tale continues!
Remember my mystery plant? Kim identified it as asphodeline (thank you!) and it's now set seed.
Of course, because the flowers grew in a random order - the seed pods are ripening randomly too.

What a whopper!
We don't usually walk in this field, but needed a detour to avoid some very cross and protective cows with their calves - look what we spotted!
I was astounded by the size of this mushroom (toadstool?) but not knowledgeable enough to consider eating it...if my friend Pamela had been on my side of the pond I bet she'd know! Did you hear about her chicken polypore mushroom?

Props - part two!
On Sunday I asked you to share with us the props you use to make your photos *pop* - and here are some of the responses:
I'm going to start with Pamela of Bazketmakr. I don't generally consider myself a very visual person, but if I read that her tiny basket is 10mm x 14mm I just think "Ok, that's pretty small". For me, seeing one balancing on her fingertip is a fabulous use of a prop! Now I *really* know it's tiny!
Aileen used a hydrangea flower and some stones to set off her new cuff. I think the colours in the flower really enhance her work.
LaughingFridge guessed (correctly in my case!) that we'd misread the title of her musical background behind this froggy magnet!
ZaftigDelights uses a huge soup bowl to hang her earrings from. I like the hint of reflection in the shiny surface.
I'm picturing Jackie from DogDaisy gazing around her kitchen and spotting the lemons she's used in this photo. The contrasting textures and colour work really well.
Nikid uses slices of lime to enhance her gorgeous chocolate clouds
Own up - how many of you are now desperate for chocolate? I shall have to ask Nikid for commission ;-)

Props - what do you use?
My mind has been stuck recently on finding ways to photograph some fiber necklaces and scarves, so I thought I'd have a scout around to see what props other sellers use.
I like the wooden screw Fishstikks is using to show off her tiny house:
Glorioushats' earrings look great on this natural stone, the roughness of the stone enhances the smoothness of the tiger eye gemstones.
and look equally fabulous on her felted human-scale mannequin:
Beadstylin' has chosen a skeleton leaf as background for these gorgeous earrings, it really shows the colour well I think.
Yellowbugboutique really had no other choice for a prop for this pillow!
Of course some "props" are human - KnitzyBlonde's hats look wonderful, don't they?
Seasonal items like MidnightCoiler's gourd decorations lend themselves naturally to seasonal props:
