Went for a walk in the countryside today, following public footpaths. We climbed over a stile (still following the footpath) into a field with a horse in it. That's ok, we live in the country, fields *do* have animals in them.
Horse came over for a sniff and followed us across the field - then decided to go nuts, cantering around, turning on the spot and kicking out his heels, bucking around.
EEEK!
We made hastily for the far side of the field - but he was enjoying his new game of "terrify the walkers" and came with us, still doing a fair impression of a bucking broncho.
Naturally this footpath then dwindled into nothing, no posts, no sign, no stile - just barbed wire fencing and a 4 foot deep ditch at the end where the map said we should go - so we ended up leaping (ok, clambering) the fence and pushing through brambles back to the road.
Thanks a lot, land-owner :-(

Hope you didn't get too prickled - and I thought horses were friendly animals!
Pomona x
I reckon it's karma, he's seen the HoodenersHorse.
hmmm, hadn't thought of the hoodeners horse connection...and we were only a couple of miles away too.
Gee Nifty he was likely smelling meerkat and having a reaction.
