is your online life secret, or are you all exposed?

Do your family and friends know who you are? Do they know about your online life, or are you somebody different once you sit behind a keyboard? Do you *really* look like your avatar?

When I read certain blogs I feel quite sure the writer is exactly like that in real life (yes, KitschyCoo, I am talking about you!)

Some bloggers I've actually met: jennyflowerblue is just like she seems online, and so is missmakesstuff

There are so many bloggers I'd love to meet in real life, because they sound such fun when I read their lives: Sharona and Jane and 5erg are just three (but as I don't have a passport I'm unlikely to get to their faraway locations!)

So - when jennyflowerblue suggested a meet-up picnic for Kent UK bloggers I signed up! If you've not heard about this yet and you're in our neck of the woods do get in touch - all welcome!

Please leave a comment to let me know - is your onlife persona secret, or does the world know who you are?

Very funny you should say that!
I do not look like my profile picture, it's a picture of my cat!
My best buddie reads my blog but no one else I know does, not sure why I have kept it a secret? anyway I met the lovely Jackie from Dog Daisy chains and I am planning on meeting Diane from Heart Shaped soon. I love blog world and feel I know you all anyway!

Great subject!! I am just as I appear on my blog & in real life, though my family don't know about my blog. A few select friends do but I just feel so much more comfortable being my crafty self amongst fellow crafters who understand & share my passion! x

I think they know me.
I don't write much personal stuff,
but I guess my personality comes out anyway.
Or maybe not:D
And I try to choose an up to date profile pic. This one is from this winter, so I guess it's not that up to date... Darn.

And Nifters, if we ever happen to meet by accident (I mean after I have stood behind your window for 3 days while singing "there is this girl i know and follow around" and digging a tunnel into your house) I will have to have my PC with me, because I don't speak English almost at all. Maybe with wine I do.

I don't have a blog but I think my store is a definite reflection of me. My avatar is now a photo of me and yes...that is me!

LOL serge - how do you manage so well in writing? do you use a translator? I hardly ever remember you're not a native speaker.

the subject was on my mind because I gave a card to a colleague recently *waves* and I suddenly wondered if I'd written dreadful things about my new job! ;-)

I think I am pretty much like I seem. I write in my blog about thngs that happen in my life.
Most people know I have a blog but they do not really visit it.
My flickr photo is me wearing my daughter's bunny ears and I have been tempted to change it lots of times but am very fond of that picture.

i dont know about 'so well', but i write better because I am an internet nerd and I type a lot :D But I rarely have to speak English. Only when i'm tourist. and when i meet tourists. and when i am out of Estonian curse words.

oh,
and thanks!

Oh, I don't blog so you can't excuse me of having multiple faces.

But My overall online personality is a much much friendlier version of the angry bear I am...

I dream of a UK meetup which I can attend. Maybe next year? We can have an international Etsy meetup!

Im also fall in love and laughter over my blog friends. And, wonder whether they too are just like that in real life.

My blog is just me. Its an open blog to real life friends and family too. Good thing or bad thing? Bad (cos I could really go to town)!

Have fun at your kent meet up. Wonder if there is an essex one. hmmmm x

I've told most people I know and my family about my blog and twitter as I also use them as a promotion tool for my shops - would be difficult to hide it away when you'r handing out cards and kind of defeats the purpose, local sales are the best, no fees! I know my mother and sister don't read it regularly, my sister just asked me if I was on twitter! Should i be offended do you think?

Oh Nifty, am so touched that I'm the Jane in your post. Clicked thinking to find another Jane. You are so amazing. Like you, having no passport and unlikely to obtain one, ours will be an online only friendship -- but oh so treasured.

I think I write as I am, but certainly the blog and shops show a portion yet not the entirety of who I am.

So enjoy visiting you here. Hugs, Jane

I make absolutely everything up on my blog.
I am really a reclusive elderly spinster surrounded by 25 cats.

LOL my daughter just posted on my "domestic goddess" blog post - so I suppose that means I'm outed?

I don't think I'm a duck? But I do reflect one. Calm above the water but deep down paddling like mad just to stay afloat! My family does not know about my blog. My husband hates me being on the computer. He thinks I might come across someone better! As if I'm looking! I have enough on my plate with him I don't need any more drama!

Oh, dear dear Nifty... you'd be so disappointed to meet me in RL! I'd probably hang around in the corner like a mute, gently stroking a meerkat for comfort.

Nope - I can't believe in a mute kitschycoo
